About
Rebecca Denson is a doctoral candidate in the UIC Clinical Psychology PhD program and a predoctoral fellow in the UIC Cancer Health Equity and Career Development Program. Her research focuses on reducing tobacco and cannabis use among at-risk populations. These interests involve investigating affective, cognitive, neural, and social correlates of tobacco and cannabis use, evaluating sex/gender differences in substance use, and applying behavioral health techniques to reduce tobacco and cannabis use. Her research utilizes multiple methodologies, including ecological momentary assessment, neuroimaging, and qualitative methods. She is currently working on her dissertation project, which aims to develop acceptable, credible, and effective messaging around the health effects of cannabis and tobacco use during pregnancy.
